Wetland ecosystems are all teeming with wildlife, and the birds in particular are always abundant. The wetland spaces in my home of the San Francisco Bay Area are no exception. This new piece features a park at the edge of the Petaluma river and within sight of Mt Tam, that I visit often for walking and birdwatching. It is right near the 101 but most of time there I feel like I am a world away.
Our natural landscapes and my love of birds were the inspirations for this piece. To help the birds that inspire some of my works, I will be donating $5 from each print sale of this edition to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology which has greatly helped me with my education and enjoyment of birds. You can read more about how they helped foster my passion for birding, and some of their programs on my blog HERE.
The piece is composed of 21 separate layers of silk screening with acrylic screen inks on archival paper. Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, sold unframed, and presented with finished edges. When framed and matted it might measure approximately 42” x 28”.
